How Dynamics 365 licensing works
Most Dynamics 365 apps are licensed per user per month. A few rules apply across every product.
Base and attach
The first Dynamics 365 app a person uses is their base licence and must be the highest-priced one. Each additional qualifying app for the same person can be an attach licence at a reduced price.
Team Members
For people who mainly read data, approve or do light self-service tasks. Team Members can't be a base licence and only work in designated apps.
Activity and device licences
Operations – Activity covers light transactional users in the operations apps; device licences cover shared terminals such as POS, warehouse or shop-floor devices.
Copilot Credits
Agents run on Copilot Credits, bought pay-as-you-go or prepaid. Some Premium licences include a monthly allowance.
Capacity
Each licence brings default database and file storage and environments. Extra storage and environments are sold as add-ons.

Most licences are available on annual terms, and many on monthly terms. We'll recommend what fits how your team is growing.

All-in-one ERP for small and mid-sized businesses.

Microsoft's Product Terms set a minimum purchase for Finance, Supply Chain Management, Commerce and Project Operations (20 full users per product at the time of writing). Microsoft also checks that licences assigned in the Microsoft 365 admin center match the access users' security roles give them.

Can we buy Dynamics 365 licences without an implementation?
Yes. If you already run Dynamics 365, or another partner implemented it, we can take over your licences as your CSP and keep your existing setup.
How do we move our licences to Tech Sarwar?
We send a reseller relationship request that your Microsoft 365 global administrator accepts. Your subscriptions then move to us at your renewal date, with no change for your users.
How do we know which licence each person needs?
Tell us what each role does in the system. For Finance and Operations apps the answer depends on security roles; we review them with you, and our License Management extension can check them automatically.
Where are the prices?
Prices depend on the licence, term and currency, and Microsoft changes them from time to time. See Microsoft's pricing pages linked in each section, or email us for a quote.
Can we mix Business Central Essentials and Premium?
No. Full Business Central users are licensed on one edition. Team Members and device licences can be added to either.
